Our Form of Government

The Ogden Dunes Community Church is governed by elders who are elected from and by the congregation. The twelve ruling elders are called the Session, and serve for three year terms. The elders sit on committees which make recommendations to the Session. The committees include Worship, Christian Education, Mission, Personnel, Property, and Finance. One member of Session serves as the Clerk of Session and works with the Presbytery.

The other board at the church is the Deacons. The Deacons hold fundraising events for charities including a Pumpkin 5K Run/Walk for Heifer International, a food drive for the Portage Food Pantry, a Coat/Sweater Drive for the Portage Resale Shop, and the Angel Tree to collect Christmas gifts for those served by the Portage Trustee's office. The Deacon's reach out to the community by hosting the "Family Dinner and A Movie" nights, putting on the Children's Talent Show, planning a day at the RailCats Park, among other events. The Deacons care for members of the congregation by sending cards and flowers to those in need, and care packages to the college students during exam time.
